Elbert Ortiz is an employment associate in the San Antonio office of Ogletree Deakins. His practice focuses on advice and counsel on personnel matters and the defense of employment law claims before administrative agencies and in federal and state court for local to international employers of all sizes across a variety of industries. Elbert has been a member of SHRM San Antonio since 2023.
Prior to joining Ogletree Deakins, Elbert served as an attorney for the Office of Chief Counsel to Customs and Border Protection, under the Department of Homeland Security. Prior to his work for the federal government, Elbert handled copyright, contract, and business disputes for commercial clients. He offers experience in all phases of litigation and pledges quality service and results to his clients.
Elbert obtained his B.A. in English from the University of Texas at Austin and earned his J.D. from the University of Houston Law Center.
